This Privacy Policy explains how Do Shesh: Backgammon ("Do Shesh: Backgammon", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Do Shesh: Backgammon mobile game, website pages, and online services.

Information we collect

• Player account data: player ID, local device account ID, display name, profile dice avatar, optional profile photo, language, settings, coins, VIP game state, ratings, statistics, missions, and game progress.
• Linked sign-in data: if you link Google, Facebook, or Apple, we may store the provider type, provider account ID, display name, email address if provided, profile photo URL if provided, and linked account metadata.
• Facebook friends: when Facebook grants permission, we may store IDs of Facebook friends who also use Do Shesh: Backgammon so they can appear as external friends or suggestions in the game.
• Social features: friends, friend requests, featured friends, private table invitations, relationship status, likes, reports, blocks, and privacy settings.
• Messages and chat: private messages, private match chat, timestamps, delivery or read state, and moderation chat snapshots when a report is submitted.
• Gameplay records: match setup, moves, dice, results, resignations, timeouts, undo state, ratings, history, head-to-head summaries, bot behavior, and matchmaking state needed to operate the game.
• Support and reports: support tickets, report reasons, report messages, optional image evidence, match evidence, and review status.
• Push notifications: Expo push notification tokens and notification preferences when notifications are enabled.
• Technical and security data: app version, request data such as IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention, server logs, and operational diagnostics.

How we use information

• create and maintain guest and linked player accounts;
• run online matches, private tables, matchmaking, rankings, missions, rewards, and statistics;
• show player profiles, friend lists, social status, and game history according to privacy settings;
• send game-related push notifications, including turn alerts, invitations, messages, friend activity, and system messages;
• process support tickets, reports, moderation reviews, and abuse prevention;
• protect the service with ownership checks, rate limits, admin controls, and production-safe error handling;
• prepare optional advertising and rewarded-ad features only when enabled by configuration.

Public profile and social visibility

Other players may see limited profile information such as your display name, profile image, rating tier, match status, online status, selected favorite game, reputation, and public game summaries. In-app privacy settings can limit some profile, activity, chat, online, and last-seen visibility.

Authentication providers

Do Shesh: Backgammon supports guest play and account linking with Google, Facebook, and Apple. Provider sign-in is used to identify the account, keep progress linked, import supported profile information, and, for Facebook, discover friends who also use Do Shesh: Backgammon when the permission is granted. Facebook friends are limited by Meta permissions and normally include only friends who also use the same app and have granted the required permission.

Facebook Friends Data

When a player connects Facebook and grants the user_friends permission, Do Shesh: Backgammon uses that permission only to help the player find Facebook friends who also play Do Shesh: Backgammon. We only receive Facebook app-scoped IDs of friends who have also installed Do Shesh: Backgammon and granted the same permission. We do not receive or store the player's full Facebook friends list.

We may store the player's Facebook app-scoped user ID and matching friend IDs that are Do Shesh: Backgammon users. This data is used only for in-game friend discovery and is not sold or shared with third parties.

Firebase, Expo, AdMob, and other service providers

The app uses Firebase-related configuration for Google sign-in and app infrastructure, Expo services for push notification tokens and build/runtime infrastructure, and hosting services for the online game server. Do Shesh: Backgammon may show ads and rewarded ads through Google AdMob using Google Mobile Ads SDK. Ads are controlled by build configuration and are enabled only when real AdMob configuration is provided. When ads are enabled, Google AdMob may process device identifiers, Advertising ID on Android, ad impressions, ad interactions, approximate location inferred from network information, and related data according to Google's policies. Where supported, you can manage or reset advertising identifiers from your device settings.

Camera and photo access

Do Shesh: Backgammon may request photo library access so you can choose a profile photo or attach an image to a support ticket. It may request camera access so you can take a profile photo. It does not need microphone access.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may share or process information with service providers needed to run the app, with sign-in providers when you choose account linking, with advertising providers only when ads are enabled, or when required for legal, safety, security, fraud prevention, or platform compliance reasons.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the game, maintain account progress, support multiplayer features, handle disputes, prevent abuse, and comply with legal or platform requirements. Support reports, moderation evidence, limited match history, and transaction-related records may be retained longer when needed for safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Account deletion and data requests

You can delete your account from inside the app through the profile/account deletion flow. Deletion removes or anonymizes account profile data and linked gameplay data that is no longer needed. Some records may be retained when required for safety, moderation, legal compliance, payment records, or fraud prevention.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures such as local account ownership checks, admin-only report access, body size limits, rate limits, CORS restrictions for browser access, and production-safe error responses. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children's privacy

Do Shesh: Backgammon is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use online services without parental consent. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child without required consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Your choices

• edit your display name, profile avatar, and profile photo;
• adjust privacy and notification settings in the app;
• disable push notifications in device settings;
• reset or limit advertising identifiers in device settings where supported;
• delete your account in the app;
• send support or privacy requests through the app support section or by email.

International processing

Information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. Data protection laws may differ by location, and we take reasonable steps to protect information according to this Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify users in the app or by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.
